Have been back to the town many times. Love it there. Hello to everyone! AGOSTINELLI / DI PIERDOMENICO Gregory Agostinelli agostin@ieee.org My father, Fernando Agostinelli, immigrated to Toronto from Abbateggio when he was 8 years old with his parents Cristina (Catalano) and Vittorio Agostinelli. And my mother, Antoinette (Di Pierdomenico), immigrated to Montreal, Quebec from Abbateggio with her family. Parents: Maria and Venturino Di Pierdomenico. And brother Antonio, and sister Eda. Our Agostinelli family history goes back quite a few generations in the town of Abbateggio. And I also found that the origins of our family name actually come from Pacentro, another town not too far away. I have also found many Agostinelli's around the world in New York, California, etc. Cristina Catalano, my grandmother, is from Catalano, which lies between Abbateggio and S. Valentino. Her family emmigrated from Spain to Italy. They were emmesaries of the King of Spain sent forth to trade and do business on behalf of the King. But they settled in Catalano (I guess they named the town after their surname), and became farmers. Over the years I have compiled a family tree and gathered much information about our family background. If anyone is interested in finding out more they can contact me by email at: agostin@ieee.org . Or they can also contact my father, Fernando at: fvagostin@yahoo.com . ASCENZO / SALVATORE Joanne Di Giovanni I was born in Abbateggio.
