Egli emigro' a Filadelfia, PA, USA alla fine dell'800. My great-grandfather Pietro Calabrese was born in Ateleta in 1873. He immigrated to Philadelphia PA at the end of the 19th century. CALABRESE / CIOTOLA Dick Cercone kf9h@earthlink.net I suspect my grandmother may be from the town of Ateleta; her name was Concetta Calabrese. She came to the US when she was 3 or 4 years old. Her father's name was Antonio Calabrese and her mother I believe was Antonette Ciotola. She had 2 sisters, Maria and Jenny. I am looking for any information about this family. His great grandmother was Anna (D'Aquila) Ciolli. Her parents were Concetta (Manella) D'Aquila and Daniel?? D'Aquila. Concetta at least made it to Chicago. Anna was thought to have come to Chicago around the turn of the century. She married Charles Ciolli in 1908 in Chicago. Anna's husband is thought to be from Pescasoroli(sp?) and she herself is thought to be from somewhere near there. If you have any information/pointers I would most appreciate it. I have birth and death records for all members of our Ateleta family except one. I could not locate a death record for Sabatino Guidone who was born at Ateleta on April 21, 1860. Their son Giacoachino, my grandfather brought his family, including my father Sabatino to the USA in 1907. Would be interested in knowing anything or anyone who may be related. MANNELLA Adrienne Cargo acargo@ameritech.net Searching for information on Amado MANNELLA (aka Amadio, Amadia, "Frank") . He was 17 when he arrived in the USA in May 1891, and was from Ateleta. He married (abt 1902 )"Anna Panza" in the USA. He later lived in the Pittsburgh (Monessen ) Pennsylvnia area. He is believed to have died between 1930-40. He and Anna had about 11 children, but only 5 or 6 made it to adulthood. Their names were Albena b.1903, Rosina b.1907, Rosalia b.1912, Jemma b.1913, and Joe (poss.aka Frank). b. abt 1918, Joe married a girl named Laura.... in Pittsburgh area. The family of Giacomo Zappa and Elizabeth (Almerinda) Ricci came to America in the late 1800s and established themselves in Cumberland, Wisconsin. They originated in the hills above Ateleta and many of the common names of the area are intermingled through marriage (Ricci, Ranallo, LeDonna, etc.) even here in America.
