DE LUCIA / PALMERIO / BUCCIRONE Gail De Lucia Bjorndal kbjorndal1@aol.com My ancestors came from Guardiagrele. My Grandfather's name was Enrico De Lucia, he was born in Guardiagrele in 1890 to Antonio DeLucia and Marianna Palmerio. Antonio , I believe was born in 1857. He had a brother named Antonio who became a monsignor. He also had a brother Luigi and a sister named Angelina. Luigi and Enrico immigrated into the US in the early 1900's, Enrico arriving in 1907. His sister did not have any children. I believe that they owned the Palazzo De Lucia given to them by a count some years earlier for serving as a soldier for the count. Unfortunately, I do not know who is in possession of it now. His father's name was Luigi De Lucia, I believe. Luigi's father was Raffaele De Lucia. Raffaele's father was Luigi De Lucia. Luigi's father would have been Antonio De Lucia. Some of the female ancestors maiden names were Virtu and Bucciarone. My father, Louis Thomas De Lucia, was born in Brooklyn, June 21, 1921. His twin was Henry. His father was Antonio Maria De Lucia. Antonio Maria De Lucia was born 28 January 1832 to Luigi Maria De Lucia and Maria Carmela Buccirone. Luigi and Enrico both immigrated to the US, Enrico arriving in Nov., 1907. Enrico married Antonietta Trotta on Dec. 16, 1911. My father was the youngest of six. Myself Giovanni have lived alone in Melbourne, working for 20 years as Laborer for a gas company. Guido unfortunately died when he was 30. He was riding his bicycle at the back of the local hospital on a curve and was involved in an accidentwith a pedestrian believed to have been drunk. I believe that my youngest brother Antonio is still alive living in Guardiagrele. Unfortunately I have lost contact with him for many years. When I was in hospital in 1994, I heard from my cousin Felice Rosila that Antonio was still alive. My only close relative that I am aware of, apart from my brother Antonio, is my cousin Felice. He is my mother’s sister. He came to Melbourne in 1952. He married Maria (nee DI PRINZI) and they have 2 children, Gianna and Diana. I also had a good friend called Giulio TINARI.
