PEOPLE / PLACES 2003

The fruit store in Lettomanoppello, on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 'the main street.' At right are the owners - I am very sorry, but I've lost their names! If anyone knows, please contact us so we can add them.

Next to the fruit store on Corso Vittorio Emanuele is the fish market, operated by Antonio Collini and his wife Assunta Di Mascio, who are at right.

Near the end of Corso Vittorio Emanuele is the Communist Party Office. A few days after the photo was taken, the sign was down and the building was being painted; whether the office has closed or whether the sign was just down because of the painting, we don't know.

Bar/Gelateria Ricci, just off Corso Vittorio Emanuele on the street into Piazza Umberto I. Below, behind the bar, is proprietor Rosina Ricci. This place has some of the best home-made gelato we've tasted!

Market day in Lettomanoppello, June 2003. Market day is always on Sunday in Lu Lette, and a busy place it is, too.
