UFFICIO  ANAGRAFE AND STATO CIVILE
(THE REGISTRY OFFICE - VITAL RECORDS)
Upstairs in the Municipio (the Town Hall, shown above) is the Ufficio Anagrafe e Stato Civile, the registry office.   The office keeps the town's vital records - including births, deaths and marriages - which is of interest to those of you pursuing genealogical research. 

At right, in a 2004 photo, are the staff: L'ufficale Aldo Marcone, who is in charge of the office, and Assunta Di Renzo, his assistant.  The office keeps the town's vital records - registries of births, deaths, and marriages.

Assunta Di Renzo told us that some of the birth records were destroyed during World War II.  The birth records from 1900 forward are complete, but some from prior to 1900 are missing.  She said that the birth registries from years prior to 1900 which do still exist are "i registri del 1866,67,68 e 1869 -1871,72,73,74,75,76,78,79 -1881,83,85,86,87,88,89-1891,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99."

She said that they have the marriage records from 1866 forward, and the death records from 1869 forward.
