ARDITI / LIMA
Nick Arditi
NickArditi@cs.com
My Grandfather, Nicola Arditi, came to America from Manoppello. He immigrated to Philadelphia to work as a tailor. Once he had saved up enough money for their passage, he sent for his wife Gilda Lima. Gilda had a daughter Mary from a previous marriage, and a son Joseph, that she had with Nicola. We still have relatives in Manoppello and Scaffa. Anyone who knows anything about the Arditi family, please email me.

CENTURIONE

My husband's grandmother, Pasquarosa D'ALFONSO (daughter of Nicolantonio D'ALFONSO and Maria DI BIASE), was born in Lettomanoppello in 1884.  Two of her sisters, Celestina D'ALFONSO and Domenica D'ALFONSO, married into the CENTURIONE family in Manoppello.  We understand that my husband has CENTURIONE cousins in Manoppello today, but we have not yet met them and we so far know nothing about this branch of the family.  We would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of the CENTURIONE family in Manoppello!

CIPRESSI / MANGINA (?SP)
Barbara Jacobs
Barbara.Jacobs@chello.be
On my mother's father's side, from Mannoppello:  Cipressi (great-grandfather) and Mangina (sp?) (great grandmother).  Their son, Alfredo Cipressi, came to the US (Phildelphia) at age 18 in 1913.  I believe another brother came to the US and then returned to Italy and other brothers -- there were 9 children altogether -- emigrated to Australia.
On my mother's mother's side, from Faro san Martino:  Verna (great-grandmother) and di Marino (great grandfather).  They emigrated to the US (Philadelphia) in 1903.  Later, all of this great-grandmother's younger sisters came to join her in America.

CREMONESE / GLORIA
Dorothea Cremonese
Dorcrem@hotmail.com
My husband's ancestors were born in Manoppello.  Vincenzo Cremonese, married Anna Gloria.  They had a son Gaetano born in Italy.  Vincenzo came to the United States in 1903 and Anna followed in 1907.  She came with her son and her husband's mother, Filomena DiStefanio.  They settled in Greensburg, PA, and most of the family still live in Greensburg.
I would like to know if there are any relatives still in Manopello.  Please respond to Dorcrem@hotmail.com Thank you.

D'ALIMONTE / VENDETTI
Sheri Heim
sheim@usfamily.net
I am searching for any parents and siblings of Nicola Iacovone (born in Lettomanoppello on January 8, 1873). Her father's name was Andrew.
She married Sante D'Alimonte I believe on March 30, 1894 in Avezzano. They immigrated to the US in 1901. I do have all of the information I need on her once she came to the US, but I do not have any information about her and her family prior to coming to the US.
I am also searching for information on Sante's parents Nicola (born 1827) and Angeline (born 1833). The immigrated to the US via New York and went to live in St. Paul, MN in 1901. I know Nicola's father's name is Francesco D'Alimonte, but have no other information on him.
I need information on Giuseppe D'Alimonte born March 14, 1857 or 1859? in Manoppello to Nicola and Angeline D'Alimonte. He is said to have gone to Africa for work and then married his wife Maria Vendetti (born in 1872) there or maybe in Manoppello and then immigrating to the US from Africa around 1887. They would have been traveling with Maria's parents Anton and Maria. I need an immigration record for them as well as birth records and a marriage record.
I am told that Giuseppe and Sante also had a brother named Antonio, but I do not know anything about him other than he immigrated to the US in 1901.
Any information would be extremely helpful.

DI DONATO / D'ANGELO
Ronni DiDonato Parker
ronnip321@aol.com
My paternal grandfather, Domenic DI DONATO, was born in Manoppello on 9/20/1885 and emigrated to the US (Boston) on the Canopic from Naples in April 1904.  He was the son of Antonio DI DONATO and Mary D'ANGELO.  His siblings were: Amelia, Sante, Leo and Ralph.  My grandfather settled in Agawam MA (near Springfield) and married Rose Gentile in 1906.  They had 9 children: Anthony, Pasqualina, Joseph, Frank (died in infancy), Domenic (my father), Anna Simone, Mary Alajanian, Amelia (died in infancy), and Sante (Sam).  My grandfather was the first of his family to emigrate from Manoppello.  He earned enough money to pay for the passages of his parents and siblings.  The Di Donato's all resided in the Springfield, MA area up to the present - of course many of the second generation relatives have now scattered across the country!

DI LUCCA / NESTA
Patricia DiLuca
PDiLuca@msn.com
We plan to come to Manappello in the fall of 2004.  I'm trying to find out how to go about researching records in the town.
My husbands father's name was Antonio DiLuca born 6/19/1896 came to America (Boston) in 1912.  He then sent for his future bride Lionara (Antonette) Nesta who was born 6/20/1895.  She was adopted.  She came to America in 1918.
The church was  Chiesa di St Nicola.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you recommend that we stay at a bread and breakfast and rent a car or should we do a group tour?

I found your names on the Lettomanoppello site - http://www.geocities.com/laroccalulett/Lett3.html.  I am researching my grandfather, Donato DiMatteo born Feb. 26, 1896 in Manoppello.  I believe his parents names to be Santos DiMatteo and Reginalda Bartolomeo but am not positive of their names.  He immigrated to Boston in 1913 settling in Jeannette, PA.  I understand he had a sister Angela who settled in Quebec, a brother Nicolo who also settled in Jeannette, PA, another brother went to South America and was never heard from again.  There may have been another brother in Italy but I don't have any name or proof of the siblings.  If you have information on the DiMatteo family from Manoppello (later spelled DeMatteo in the USA).
