DE FRANCESCO
Rose Falorio Turanin
RTURANIN@aol.com
My mother, Rosa DeFrancesco, was born in this city in l890, and came to America when she was 24.  I visited the town in October 2000, and was impressed by its location on the mountain.  I drove from Gamberale to this town upon roads which were very narrow and winding.  My mother told me that she worked in the fields there, but I cannot believe that there were farms on that mountain.  I noticed many older men sitting in the town square just talking.

My grandmother, Rosalinda Carozza (daughter of Justino Carozza) married Angelo DiFrancesco and came to live in Marianna, Pennsylvania, USA about 1927.  She had a sister, Nilda.  There were three bothers who settled in Ohio. When visiting Montenerodomo I went to the municipal building for information. The little church nearby was closed. What a beautiful place!

My grandfather, Guiseppe, was born in Montenerodomo in 1899 and came to America in 1916 with his brothers. He settled in Donora, PA and married Helen Amatangelo in 1924. He changed his name to Jackman. I would like to find relatives still living in Montenerodomo as I will be visiting there in September. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been fortunate to find information on my grandmother's family but nothing on my grandfather's side. Thank you.

JCMoonBaby@aol.com
Ciao! My name is Jacque Cavalliero.  I live in Phoenix, Arizona.  I visited Palena this year, and hope to return next year to visit Montenerodomo. I am looking for any relatives of mine who may still live in Montenerodomo or anywhere in Italy.  My Grandfather, Federico Nero was born there in 1888.  He married my grandmother, Isolina Ferrara, from Palena.  She was born in 1897.  They had two children there.  My Zio Antonio, and Zia Maria.  She continuted to live there until my Grandfather sent for her to come to the states in 1921.  They had six more children, my father, Francesco, being one of them.  Can anyone tell me the addresses of places that I may write to for copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.?  Grazie, e Buona giornata!  :o)

My grandfather, FRANCESCO ANTONIO ROSSI  was born in this city 6/1887.  His father was Giustino Rossi and his mother's name was Eleanor Carozza or Carozzo. He emigrated here in 1903 to Philadelphia, Pa.  He traveled with Onorato Rossi who I believe returned to Montenerodomo.

ROSSI / ROSSI
Dina Rossi
rossimarino@comcast.net
My grandfather was born in Pennsylvania, but all of his ancestors that I know of  were born and married in Montenerodomo, and all of them, on both his father's and mother's side, had the surname Rossi!  My grandfather was Francis Rossi (1910 - 1980). He was the son of Pietro Domenico Rossi of Montenerodomo (1883 - 1965) and Francesca Rossi of Montenerodomo.  Pietro was the son of Francesco Rossi and Maria Vincenza Rossi.  Pietro's wife Francesca (1884 - 1952) was the daughter of Achille Rossi (born about 1857) and Quintilia Rossi (daughter of Giustino Rossi).
Francis, Pietro, and Francesca Rossi are all buried in Warren, Ohio.   Francesca Rossi had cousins in Montenerodomo named Angelo and Carmine Di Francesco, but I'm not sure  exactly how they are related.
