My great great grandfather, Abramo Ciccone emigrated from Pacentro to the US in the early 1890's.  He first lived in Manhattan, and by the turn of the century moved to Pittsburgh.  He was a building contractor by trade.  His parents also came to America.  His father was Casimiro Ciccone, born 1821 in Pacentro.  His mother was Rita Digiambattista, born 1841 in Pacentro.  Abramo had 9 siblings, all of which left Pacentro and settled in various places in the US.  Oldest was Annibale, born 1861 in Pacentro and died in Manhattan.  Abramo was second, born in 1863, and died in Pittsburgh.  Ismaele, born 1865, and died in the Bronx.  He was married to Agrippina Giannone(also from Pacentro).  Fiorenzo Ciccone, born 1866, and died in Indiana.  Sara, born 1867.  Rebecca, born 1870, and lived in New Jersey.  Noe', born 1871, and lived in the Bronx.  Mose', born 1874, and died in Pittsburgh.  Lia, born 1875, lived in Pittsburgh and New Jersey.  Guerino, born 1877, and lived in Brooklyn.  There are many descendants of these siblings.
Other Pacentro names I am searching for are:  Digiambattista, Rapone, DiSalle.  Anyone with connection to any of these names or families please contact me.   Thanks.

DI NELLO / AGOSTINELLI
Tricia Lewis
tricia@changingskies.com
My grandparents were from Pacnetro, Italy - my grandfathers name is Frank Carmen DiNello, my grandmothers name is Mary Agostinelli.  Grandfather came to the United States some where around 1915-1920.  Grandmother was born in the United States but her mother went back and forth to Italy, (mostly staying in Italy).  We're not really sure of the time frame and several other facts surrounding my grandparents and the family history.  I remember family talking about my great-grandparents having a farm in Pacentro but that's about it.
Unfortunately, my grandparents didn't see any need to speak of the old days and the times while they were growing up this leaves my brothers, sisters and myself with many questions and a desire to know.  Needless to say I was thrilled when I stumbled onto your web-site and found pictures of Pacentro.
Are there ways that we can find out vital statistics?

I have been trying to trace my family tree. My great grandfather's name was Antonio La Rocca and he came to the United States around 1888. He was married to Annaina( Anna) Ciccone. They had one son that was born in Pacentro (his name was possibly Sulivani . I do not know if he came to New York or where, then some how they went to Denver , Colorado and then they had 2 more children --a son name Joseph and a daughter named Mary. Joseph is my grandfather. Then they went and settled in Aliquippa ,PA. and had 2 more childern-- a daughter named Louise and a son Philip . Now some how in the 1900 census he went by the name of Tony Rock, so that is what my grandfather went by also. I had family members think the family name was La Rocco, but I came to find out it was La Rocca, also in my great grandfather family there is also the name of Cercone . If in any way you can help me please let me know. I have 8 grandchildern and I would like for them to know where my family came from and the history of the family .Many, many thanks for any help you can give .

I was reading your web page and I also have ancestors from Pacentro that you could add to your list. My mother is very interested in gathering geneology information and the information on my father's side is a little incomplete. I thought you could add us to this list as a way of possibly gaining more family information. Mancini (Mancing) / Lucci Two of my great grandparents are from Pacentro. Carmen Mancini married Rosaria Lucci. Both were born and raised in Pacentro. We are not sure about the birthdates. We do know that my great grandfather spent some time in Argentine as a Gaucho (cowboy) before finally immigrating to America in the early 1900's. They settled first in Corapolis, PA then later moved to Beaver Falls.
