My grandmother was from Pietranico but she left in 1912, after the cholera epidemic in which she lost her parents within a day or 2 of each other. Her name was Filomena Colucci, her parents were Camillo Colucci & Lucia Silverii (from Alanno). This was his 2nd marriage & he was 20 years her senior. He had one daughter from his first marriage & a few daughters from his 2nd marriage. Filomena was the last daughter & had a younger brother name Guiseppe who immigrated to Hartford Conn. After her parents died, she came to Canada escorted by her brother as she was illiterate, to join her sister Teresa (who was 13 years older) in Montreal who was married to someone name D'Ostilio (not sure on the spelling). This is where she met her future husband, Bambino Baccanale from Torre de Passeri (just down the hill from her town). He had arrived around 1907 & his Dad & sisters arrived in 1911 at Ellis Island..

My father, Patrick (originally Pasquale?) D'Ostilio was born in Pietranico in August, about 1895. His parents were Dominic D'OSTILIO and Liberata MECUCCI. Any information about these surnames in Pietranico would be appreciated!
