The statue lies on the wall of a building in ruins in via Pietralata (it is an old path which used to connect Roccamorice with the hamlets, before the road Roccamorice-Pian delle Castagne, suitable for vehicles, was built).
The frame made with stone from Maiella was made by stonemasons from Lettomanoppello. It portrays the Blessed Virgin Mary, Immaculate Conception. It was a certain Concetta Tontodonati’s vow from Scafa, who married with Panfilo D’Alimonte from Roccamorice in 1855. |

Shepherd and cheese maker-Rocco D'Angelo (sopranomme-Solang), center, of Contrada Crognaleto, Roccamorice with his father in law- Giuseppe DiPasquale, helper- Ramadan Durmishi from Macedonia, , Donato Rulli, Rosalia DiPasquale-Rocco's wife and Joseph Addario. Rocco is one of the last remaining shepherds in Roccamorice. Shown at right is his helper Ramadan watching the flock on the fields surrounding Roccamorice. Rocco makes a very nice Pecorino cheese . Great for eating fresh or grating for pasta. |

Antonio D'Alimonte with his friend, one of the last remaining working donkeys in Roccamorice. Donkeys were used to carry a great many loads of sticks, hay, etc. Now tractors and wagons have taken over their job. This donkey was working behind the cemetery in Roccamorice, possibly carrying wood. |
