Robert Amatangelo subo50@earthlink.net My Grandfather was Eusanio Amatangelo, and my Grandmother maiden name was Maria Grazia fu Berardino. Their son Angelo Amatangelo was my father. He was born in Rocca Pia June 15, 1903 and died June 12, 1986. He came to America when he was 17, in March of 1920. He married my mother in Canton, Ohio USA, in 1926. Her name was Fulvia Tomas, from Castelamare, now a part of Pescara. He worked the coal mines in Pennsylvania, and then moved to Canton, Ohio, where he worked in the Steel mill, until he retired at age 63. My mother, Fulvia had 12 children from Angelo, in which 10 are still living. they were the most wonderful parents. Did everything for there children. My Father had one brother,(Nunzio) who lived in Bovard, Pa, and two sisters. Mary lived in New Alexander, Pa., and My Aunt Palma lives in tasmania, Australia. She is 94, and still living. God bless her. My father loved to play the accordion, and two of his sons also play the accordion. He always had a big garden, and planted somany good vegatables. We always had wonderful Italian meals. My Father's Father was Eusano Amatangelo, and Mother's name was Maria. If any one knew of them, or knows about their family in Rocca Pia, please email me. Concetta married Giacchino D’Aurora and moved to Erie, PA. from Rocca Pia in the very early 1900’s. Concetta had two sisters, Rose and Vallie, who also moved to Erie. My husband and I will be travelling to Italy in May, 2009 and would like to visit Rocca Pia. I am searching to see if anyone has information about any relatives of my grandparents who may still reside in Rocca Pia. Would love to hear from anyone with information. She was actually born here (parents immigrated), but went back to Italy when she was about 2 and then returned to the states at 14 or so. She became a schoolteacher. She passed away 3 years ago at the age of 85. Her husband, Peter Amatangelo, still lives in Northville, Michigan, though they resided in Warren, Michigan from the time my dad was young, until her death. AMICUCCI / LEONE Scott Andress scottandress@gmail.com I'm wondering if anyone has information on Carlo Vicenzo Amicucci (born ?) who was the father of Pietro Antonio Amicucci (b. 1877, d. 1953) who was married to Maddalena Leone in 1902. Their son was Donato Antonio Amicucci (b. 1909, d. 1995) and was my maternal grandfather (who had three sisters, I think -- one named Constantina Amicucci Gati). Pietro and Donato were born in Rocca Pia (not sure about Carlo). She was born Rosa Cuzaolino (sp?) , daughter of Arcangelo and Bellisante Antonia ( could be Dellisante). Rosa was born August 29, 1890 and came to the United States in 1908. My grandmother, Michelina DeSantis, was born in Rocca Pia to Maria Leone and Pietro Celestino DeSantis. We have our family traced back to the 1700's. (the Roccavalleoscura days). Unfortunately, she died very young. Giuseppe wanted a new Italian wife so he returned to Italy sometime in 1906 or 7. He sponsored the passage of Maria DeLetta Puinno from San Giovanni in Galdo to be his new bride. She entered America through the Port of Cleveland in 1907. They were married in July of 1908 in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Erie, PA. Giuseppe raised his family in Erie's Little Italy. The children included George, (son of his 1st wife), Mary, Frances, John, Angeline, Agnes, Raymond, Jean and Domenick. His father, Frederic, was an immigrant from Rocca Pia. I have tried unsuccessfully to find my family tree in Italy. He was born in Rocca Pia on July 24, 1873, the son of Nazzario Fronsaglia and Eufemia Maria Tabacco. He and my GGandmother , Maria Giuseppa Amicucci, the daughter of Carmine Amicucci and Angela Colasante, left Italy around 1900. They settled in the Mon Valley area of Western Pennsylvania. He returned to Italy around 1935,married my mother and returned to Erie a year or two later. His fathers name was Antonio( I think) his mother and my mothers mother both had the same name Isabella Fronzalia. I know the names of my uncles and aunts on both sides but I was wondering if any one could help me in going further back in my family tree. They migrated in the 1920’s to the West Newton, PA area and then to Erie, PA. Elisabetta’s father was Nicola Colasante and he died in a mine accident in Crabtree, PA in 1911. Her mother was Lucia Di Paolo buried in Rocca Pia, Italy. Quirino’s father was Domenico Letterio and his mother was Emilia Amicucci . His name was Frank Rocco. I believe he still has a sister in Rocca Pia. He passed away 1 year ago. They use to call him a nickname that sounds like ch cooch. My grandmother thinks this his nickname meant "Little Frank." Can you help me out with the correct spelling of his nickname? My cousin believes the spelling in Italian is "Ciccuci".
