September 2001: Boarding the train at Pescara after a day of museums and shopping to return 'home' to Lu Lette / La Rocca. The train runs hourly to and from Scafa, which is only a few miles from Lu Lette and La Rocca; from Scafa there are local buses to the surrounding towns |

September 2001: Dan Rulli, Bonnie's husband, shopping in the new Maxi Tigre supermarket in Scafa, the only modern supermarket in the vicinity of Lu Lette and La Rocca - it even has sliced bread! ;o( |

Like the cattle and sheep, domesticated horses sometimes wander free on the mountainsides above Lettomanoppello and Roccamorice. This group of mares, one of which wears a bell so that the group can be located, doesn't seem at all averse to having a pat or two. |
