ANGELANTONIJ
Lelio Angelantoni
langel1030@rogers.com
My family has been traced in Tocco since 1505 and il palazzo Angelantonj where my father was born and lived is still standing in via Cavour. We left in 1960 for Canada.
I sent a photo (top left) of our house in Tocco up to 1960.
Our family crest is still there (top right), although the house now belongs to Tocco.
The fresco (bottom) can be seen at the convent "S. Maria Del Paradiso,"  (L'Osservanza) and it was given by one of my ancestors to the convent around 1550.  It shows Jesus going to limbo to resurrect Moses, Eve and the patriarch
Giobbe.
The family crest is on top of the fresco and the inscription says "Johannes Baptista De Angelantonio de Tocco."

CONSOLE  (later CONSOLINO) / DEL TIONE
John M. Consolino, Palm Harbor, FL
JMCONS@aol.com
Many interesting facts from my cousin Steven Moore (above) which I did not know. It is my understanding that our Grandfather, Eustachio was known as CONSOLE (pronounced con'zol) while still in Tocco and after he came to the U.S., he changed his name to CONSOLINO while a railroad foreman in Indiana. He added the "ino" for one of two reasons - a final suffix was added to surnames to be more descriptive - "ino" meaning smaller, the men on the railroad were teasing him about his size. He always told us grandchildren that he needed a more important sounding name - all the important Italian immigrants had fancy last names.
My Grandmother, Camille Del Tione, came to the U.S. in 1917 and the ships registry has her surname spelled as Del Tione (2 words), not Deltione. That is consistent with historical surnames recorder in Tocco.

DI DONATO / MARINELLI
Bert Di Donato
BERTDIDO@aol.com
My parents, Giuseppe DI DONATO and Angelina MARINELLI were born in Tocco (10/27/1897 and 3/19/1898 respectively) and we have been able to trace my Father's family back  to 1747 TO Simplicio (Santangelo) DiDonato who died August 19,1812.
We visited Tocco about 9 years ago and plan to go back someday soon, since I will be 70 years old this year and I better get going if I am going to do it.
I have one first cousin in Tocco...Leneide Tarquino....who has 4 daughters living in Tocco.  Leineide and her deceased husband (Antonio Tarquino) emigrated to Australia in the early 1950's (I think) and returned to Tocco in the 1970's.  My father's sister (Domenica) and his brother Paolo)  emigrated to Australia and their descendents stlill live there.  The only person from that generation still living is my aunt Venturina DiDonato (Paolo's) wife who lives in Melbourne.
I still communicate regularly with that aunt and my 20 or so first cousins in Australia...where I visited about 5 years ago.  I love my Italian heritage and am very proud of what little I know of my family.
