I am looking for help/advice on how to locate records of ancestors and/or living descendants in Connecticut. The family surname I am interested in is D'Alimonte or Delmonte Enrico D'Alimonte (my grandfather); born: March 15, 1895, Turrivalignani, IT; died: Feb. 1968, Windber, Pennsylvania; his parents were: Fabio D'Alimonte and Mary Di Paolo I am also trying to find records of his parents (Fabio and Mary [Di Paolo]) as well as any siblings there might have been and any of their descendants. Enrico arrived in the USA on the Duca d'Aosta, June 26, 1912; he departed from Naples; when he came through Ellis Island his record shows he was to meet with a brother Guiseppe D'Alimonte. Here is what I know about Guiseppe D'Alimonte born: April 8, 1878 (presume it to be Turrivalignani but not documented); died: Feb. 1977 in Torrington, Litchfield, Connecticut; he lived on Tracy Ave. in Torrington; was married and had at least 7 children- Elena, Enrico, Ernest, Josephina, Victoria, and two daughters whose names are not clear (from the 1910 and 1920 federal census); - I have no documents on these family members; Guiseppe's wife's name was Margaret. She was born in Italy. (Nobody lives at the Tracy Ave., Torrington, CT address I have.) Rico was living in Brooklyn according to family members. A letter I wrote there was returned. He may have died. Guiseppe had a brother Paolo (Paul)D'Alimonte. (Paolo's last name is spelled Delmonte in most records.) He and his wife lived with Guiseppe for a while and then moved into thier own place. This is from the census data as well. Paolo was born in Italy. So was his wife, Clotilda Pesce. They also had at least seven children - Mollie, Mary, Margaret, John, Antoinette, Elvino and Alphonso. The children from both of these families were all born in CT. Constantine D'Alimonte was another brother. I do not know his age or much else about him. I do know he assumed the name of Joseph Marno when he arrived in the USA. He died in Port Washington, NY. He was married to Giovanna Contato - she was from Naro, Sicily; she died about 1966 in Norwich, NY. They had two boys Angelo and Ernest Marno (both now deceased). My grandfather once spoke of a sister but no family members know anything about her or if there were any other siblings. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer. All the brothers came from Turrivalignani, Italy. I have contacted the records office in Italy over a year ago and have not received a response. Should I write the Church in Turrivalignani? (There is only one Catholic Chuch in Turri). Can anyone offer any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance. Thanks also to the owners of this wonderful site!

alndd@3oaks.com
My mother was Chiarina MANCINI, born in Lettomanoppello on January 3, 1891 or 1892.  Her parents were Biagio or Biase MANCINI and Vincenze GIUSTI.  My mother's mother died in childbirth when my mother was about 9 years old, and my mother and her sister Liberata went to Turrivalignani to live with relatives or family friends.  Her dad later remarried and moved to New York City and eventually to Portland, ME. (At least that is my understanding).
My mother - Chiarina MANCINI - married Oreste FIORELLINI in Turri in December, 1908.  He was born in the city of Torre de Passeri (Chieti).  He was adopted by Angelo and Filomena Fiorellini (not sure if there last name was Fiorellini or what) and they moved to Turrivalignani. I never knew my grandfather Angelo, but I did know my grandmother Filomena and she is buried under the name Filomena Fiorellini.  My father was 10 or 11 years old he began an apprenticeship in the making of shoes with a local artisan in Turrivalignani.
My father, Oreste FIORELLINI, emigrated to New York in 1912, sponsored by his father-in-law Biase MANCINI, who had emigrated earlier and was living in New York.  About 10 months later, my mother, with her one year old son Biagio and her sister, Liberata Mancini (12 years old), also arrived in New York.
If anyone has information about this family, please contact me.

rocalana@optionsdsl.ca
My husband's gr. gr. gr. grandparents were Nicola RULLI, born in Turri in 1791, and Chiara PLACIDO, born in Turri about 1792; they were married in Turri in 1812.
Nicola  RULLI was the son of Saverio RULLI  and Lodavica DI SILVESTRO (born about 1745 in Lettomanoppello).  Chiara PLACIDO was the daugher of Nicola PLACIDO and Anna Saveria PETRILLI of Turri (I have additional information on this PLACIDO / PETRILLI marriage) .
Children of Chiara PLACIDO and Nicola RULLI were:- Carmela, b.1812 and m. to Luigi BELFIGLIO of Manoppello; Fiorangelo b. 1821, married and died at Roccamorice;  Anna Saveria b. 1823; Camillo b. 1828, died at Roccamorice in 1858.

RULLI / PAPA
Richard Rulli
rrulli024@home.com
My father, Camillo RULLI, is from Turrivalignani and my mother is from Abbateggio; they met and married in Toronto, Canada.  My father's grandfather was Antonio RULLI who married Sandra (last name unknown). They had two children, Cesedio and Lucia.  Cesedio was my father's father.  Cesedio RULLI married Fiorella PAPA (my grandmother).  They had 6 children; Rocco (now deceased), Giuseppe, Nicola, Camillo (my father), Antonio, and Nunzia.  All but Antonio are here in the Greater Toronto Area.  My father and his two older brothers emigrated to Brazil in the mid 1950s, before coming to Canada.  My father owned and operated Rulli Brothers Truck Repair in Downsview, Ontario for 30 plus years.  He initially owned it with his brother Giuseppe, then bought him out in the early 80s.   I think the older Rulli's out there would know my father and uncle through the business connection.
